East Weaver Creek Field Trip with California Native Plant Society
East Weaver Creek, Weaverville Fieldtrip
Join California Native Plant Society on this native plant fieldtrip on the East Weaver Creek Trail in the Weaverville basin. There may be bleeding hearts, spotted and scarlet fritillaries, Solomon’s seal, fairy bells, and hopefully, higher up the drainage, calypso orchid—they put on quite a show in the early spring. We may also check in on the California groundcone to see what it looks like this time of year. Bring lunch. Dogs OK on leash. Light rain OK; heavy rain cancels. Meet at the Placer Street Holiday Market parking lot near CVS at 8 am for carpooling. For more information, call John Springer at 530/917-0567.
