SUMMARY:Echo Lake Hike (Lassen Volcanic National Park)
DESCRIPTION:Echo Lake Hike (Lassen Volcanic National Park) \nSaturday\, July 13\, 2024\, 8 am \nThis is a 4 to 4.5-mile out-and-back hike to Echo Lake\, following a heavily forested trail with open areas to a small lake. Starting out in the morning\, this joint CNPS/SEA field trip will primarily be a social hike\, but we will teach participants how to identify the various conifers on the trail. \n  \nThe trail starts at Summit Lake and is a moderate difficulty hike with a total elevation gain of under 600 feet leading to Echo Lake.  It does require good balance but is easy for most people. Wear boots and bring a hat\, water\, sunscreen and lunch. We will meet at the Mt. Shasta Mall parking lot near Chase Bank at 8 am and carpool/caravan to Lassen.
