Join us for SEA’s late fall colors field trip and experience all of this season’s vibrancy! Just east of Burney and next to Hat Creek, this stunning area is on full display making for some beautiful stops to learn more about the plants, trees, and shrubs along the way. This area has many different plants than the valley floor and should be a great way to learn more about our region’s biodiversity. We’ll also get to take a look at some of PG&E’s power plants along Hat Creek.
Before we start the hike, we will stop at the Packway Materials Sculpture Park in Cassel for about 15 minutes to look at the unique metal sculptures then drive on to Baum Lake and hike the PCT from there.
The weather in this area will be about 10 degrees cooler than Redding, so please dress appropriately in layers.
To sign up, contact walk leader David Ledger at david@ecoshasta.org
We look forward to seeing you there!
