Lower Sacramento Ditch Trail Hike
Saturday, January 21, 9 am
This hike will be an easy-to-moderate 4 1/2-mile out-and-back on the Lower Sacramento Ditch Trail to the Hornbeck Trail and FB Trail in northwest Redding. This trail, which was not burned in the Carr Fire, has great views of Keswick Lake. Walk leader David Ledger will identify the native plants on the walk. Meet at the Senior Citizen’s Center at 2290 Benton Drive parking lot at 9 am to carpool or you can meet us at the trailhead at the end of Walker Mine Road. We will drive to the nearby historic Quartz Hill Mine after the hike.
Bring an umbrella if there are light rain or sprinkles, although if there’s snow on the ground or rain we will need to cancel. Dogs on leash are welcome.
